Pittsburgh Magazine and YaJagoff Media have brought together a mix of local voices including a pelvic floor specialist, a food editor, a DJ, a director of the arts and a media relations specialist to create a podcast called PittsburgHER.

Designed to be a resource and outlet for Pittsburgh-region women, Pittsburg HER is co-hosted by Rachael Rennebeck, Sarah Aziz, Kristy Graver, Brea “DJ Femi” Thomas and Dr. Jocelyn Fitzgerald. The podcast promises “conversations about community, culture, and change” and “the powerful need for a space where women can speak freely, connect deeply, and challenge the status quo.”

In the kickoff episode, Rennebeck describes the group as “five women from five different walks of life. But not really: We share a lot of the same interests and a lot of the same wants.”

Their panel discussion, she said, are like “when you’re alone with your girlfriends, when you’re sharing a martini, when you’re just kind of venting about life, and you want to talk about how you feel and what your opinion is. And that’s what this.”

Discussion topics include mental health, women’s health, gender equity, socioeconomics and more. Six episodes have dropped so far. You can find them on YouTube, Facebook, YaJagoff.com and wherever you listen to podcasts.
