Melissa Rayworth | Executive Editor

Melissa has spent two decades writing about families, parenting, culture and design for global and regional magazines and news outlets. As a communications consultant, she works with organizations to tease out and tell their stories. And through her firm Breadcrumbs, she works with private clients to capture, preserve and use their personal experiences in ways that propel their lives forward. Linda Krynski | Kidsburgh Director and Advisory Board Chair

Lyn is the director of Kidsburgh. Pittsburgh is her adopted hometown and she loves the abundant outdoor space and immense opportunities for learning. Education is her passion, especially advocating for kids facing long odds and learning challenges. She is the lucky grandmother of two kids, a boy and a girl.


Yu-Ling Cheng | Kidsburgh Director of Marketing

Yu-Ling is the marketing director for Kidsburgh. She loves exploring Pittsburgh with her two daughters and trying new things during Remake Learning Days Across America festival. Yu-Ling is an entrepreneur, marketing/PR professional and musician (violin). She loves to connect with community members, so don’t hesitate to reach out to her at kidsburghpgh@gmail.com.


Kristine Sorensen | KDKA-TV anchor and reporter

Kristine contributes Kidsburgh stories in her role as an anchor and reporter for KDKA-TV.  She also volunteers as an MC for many charities and has performed with a local professional dance company. In 2019, Kristine won the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for Best Feature Reporter for three Kidsburgh stories and was nominated for the Golden Quill for this story. Kristine has two girls and a boy, and loves the journey of parenthood.


Heather Hopson | Editorial Consultant

Heather is the founder and communications director of Motor Mouth Multimedia, a collective of creatives and consultants of color that collaborates with others to tell diverse stories, provides unique perspectives and increases the visibility of important issues. She’s also the founder of Single Mom Defined, an in-person and online support group that rewrites society’s narrative about single Black moms and creates an inclusive, supportive space for single moms.

Sandra is a freelance writer, editor and public relations professional in Upper St. Clair.


Rege Behe | Writer

Rege writes about books and authors, music and musicians, in Pittsburgh and beyond.


Kristy Locklin | Writer

Kristy is a North Hills-based writer. When she’s not busy reporting, she enjoys watching horror movies and exploring Pittsburgh’s craft beer scene.

 


Sally Quinn | Writer

Sally, who served as Kidsburgh’s editor for five years, is an award-winning writer and editor who has been covering her favorite city for more than 30 years. She appreciates all that Pittsburgh offers families and has a blast guiding her 10 grandkids to new discoveries.
