Youth Reporters

As part of our mission to uplift teen voices in Western PA, SLB Radio and Kidsburgh work with teens in grades 8-12 who are interested in writing stories and creating podcast episodes with us. Students don’t need any experience to participate — just an interest in learning and an eagerness to create content.

We offer free training and small stipend payments for the time students spend creating stories and audio recordings as part of SLB Radio’s Youth Media Corps. Youth reporters have opportunities to create local event coverage, share their perspectives on current issues, contribute to recurring columns and more, while learning at training sessions with working media professionals.
