What is your school’s AI policy? We’ve got details.

School districts across Allegheny County agree on one thing: AI is here to stay. As education-focused AI tools become increasingly common, many districts are working to enact policies and issue guidelines on the use of AI within classrooms. Research shows middle and high school students and educators are increasingly using generative AI. In fact, Common Sense Media’s Dawn of AI study found 40% of teens reported using gen AI for school assignments.

This week, our friends at PublicSource have a great article out about AI policies at local school districts. It includes a list of the most commonly used AI tools (Diffit, Class Companion, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, TeachFX and MagicSchool) and local district AI policies. They’ve also published an exploration of how some local teachers are learning to use AI in powerful ways.
