DESCRIPTION:Heartbreak at the Symphony features works on the theme of love and romance.\nWagner’s opera “Tristan und Isolde” tells the ancient story of two lovers bound together by a magic love potion but tragically driven apart by society and politics.\nTchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture” tells the story of the battling Montagues and Capulets in one of the most iconic love themes ever written.\nHoward Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 (1930) immediately became known as his “Romantic” Symphony\, largely because of the stirring love theme present in all three movements of the work. Unlike Wagner’s and Tchaikovsky’s stories\, Hanson’s symphony ends with love triumphant!
