SUMMARY:Brain Architecture Game: Virtual Lunch and Learn
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to play a game that helps people appreciate the impact of early childhood experiences on outcomes across the lifespan\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nJoin Remake Learning and Dr. Judy Cameron in learning how to play the Brain Architecture Game. This game helps people appreciate the impact of early childhood experiences on outcomes across the lifespan. \nAbout the Game: \nThe Brain Architecture Game is a tabletop game experience that builds understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development – what promotes it\, what derails it\, with what consequences for society. \nIn the Remote Team Editions of the game\, participants can play via zoom and screen-sharing in groups (and virtual breakout rooms) of 3-6 people. One person will still need pipe cleaners\, straws\, and weights\, and a functioning webcam which Remake Learning will mail in advance of the workshop. \nAbout Dr. Judy Cameron: \nJudy L. Cameron\, Ph.D.\, is a Professor of Psychiatry and the Director of Pitt Science Outreach at the University of Pittsburgh. For 10 years she was a member of the McArthur Foundation Research Network on Early Experience and Brain Development and she is currently a member of the National Scientific Council on the Developing Child and the Scientific Council for the Child Mind Institute. She has a well-established research program studying how life experiences shape brain development and lifelong brain plasticity\, focusing on the impact of social stresses\, exercise and nutrition. \nZoom Login: \nErin from Remake Learning will email participants a zoom link in advance of the workshop.

Now\, they continue reaching families through their interactive online shows\, albums and\, starting this August\, their new Hola\, Amigo book. \nAndrés grew up in Bogotá\, Colombia\, and learned how to play the guitar from his father as a child. He studied clarinet at the Conservatory and had his first studio experience at age eight. He went on to earn a Doctorate in music and win first prize in the National Composition Contest in Colombia for one of his early songs. \nChristina was raised in the US\, in a Spanish-speaking family hailing from Colombia\, and studied theater and dance as a child. After serving as a classroom teacher in public schools and earning a Masters in Education from Penn\, she found her mission teaching through music.
