The event is free to the public with family-friendly activities and great cultural performances from the Organization of Chinese Americans Performance Ensemble\, Win-Win Kung Fu Culture Center\, Yanlai Dance Academy\, Pittsburgh Chinese School Dance\, Gong Lung (Steel Dragon) Kung Fu and Lion and Dragon Dance\, Pittsburgh Taiko\, Jin Yang\, and the Rejoice Ensemble\, and the Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 4th annual Pan Camp!\nStudents ages 8 and older are invited to spend a week learning all about the steelpan. Students will learn: \n\nSteelpan History\nBuilding and Tuning Process\nSteelpan Technique\nPerformance Technique\n\nPan Camp! will also include mini steelpan making and art activities. \nOur unique camp will not only teach students about the steelpan and music theory\, our programs also focus on enhancing social skills and increasing self esteem and confidence while promoting expression and creativity. The camp will end with a performance for family and friends. \nMorning Session 9-12pm \n*Healthy snacks will be provided. Please let us know if your child has a food allergy. \nScholarships Available! \nAbout Us \nBarrels to Beethoven is dedicated to the preservation\, education\, and innovation of the steelpan. Founded in 2014 by Leigh Solomon Pugliano\, Barrels to Beethoven provides engaging\, entertaining\, and interactive opportunities for the public\, especially young people\, to learn the accurate history of the instrument\, the building and tuning process\, music theory\, and technique. Leigh started the organization as a way to recognize and continue her father’s work. The mission of the organization is to provide impactful arts and cultural education to the community as well as sustain the instrument. In addition to learning music theory\, science\, innovation\, and technique\, kids who participate in our steelpan education programs gain the personal\, social\, emotional\, and educational assets needed to support healthy development.
