This Pittsburgh-area school district is getting national attention: Watch the video here.

Last year, we shared a story with Kidsburgh readers about a remarkable program at California Area School District, which is giving every student a chance to make music.

The goal of this innovative effort? To give more students in this small, rural school district a frictionless path to participating in the arts — and to learning musical skills that will stay with them for a lifetime. Superintendent Laura Jacob and her team have 3D printed an entire orchestra at the elementary level and they’re working on doing the same for secondary schoolers. But 3D-printed violins are at the heart of this effort.

This week, we were excited to see that CBS News did a national story about Cal Area’s innovative program. We wanted to share that news coverage with you. You can read it right here and watch the video.
