The Pittsburgh Symphony is headed to Moon and Mars, and your family is invited!
It’s a happy surprise for many families to discover that children as young as 3 can have a joyful experience with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Fiddlesticks concerts are perfect for families with kids between ages 3 and 8. These short, fun concerts are full of singing, dancing, clapping and silliness. Usually, Fiddlesticks welcomes families into his home at Heinz Hall. But this summer, Fiddlesticks is giving Pittsburgh-area families a chance to see the symphony in their own neighborhoods — north and south of the city.
On July 12 and 13, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is heading to Moon and Mars for a summer adventure with Fiddlesticks. (If you haven’t met Fiddlesticks yet, this musical cat is a cheerful, seven-foot-tall furry friend who has been helping Pittsburgh-area parents introduce their children to the magic of music and the orchestra for more than 30 years.)

“Fiddlesticks makes music feel magical and the orchestra feel like a friend, because every child should know the symphony belongs to their community,” says Suzanne Perrino, senior vice president of learning and engagement at the Symphony. “These concerts are a great way to nurture a love of classical music in young listeners, maybe even inspire them to learn an instrument themselves. Please join us in Moon and Mars for our Summer Adventure!”
Here are details on these upcoming shows:
Saturday, July 12, 11:15 a.m.: Moon Senior High at 8353 University Blvd in Moon Township.
Sunday, July 13, 2:30 p.m.: Mars Area Senior High School at 520 Rte 228 in Mars Borough.

Families can meet Fiddlesticks and take photos with the musicians before and after the show. These performances will be conducted by Moon Doh, with Katy Williams as the singer. Tickets are $10 for kids and $15 for adults.
Fiddlesticks is even happy to sign autographs!
