The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has published their Summer Programming Guide, helping Pittsburgh-area families find tons of free outdoor activities throughout the city. These programs are designed to help Pittsburghers of all ages get outdoors, exercise in the fresh air and find family-friendly activities in their neighborhoods.

The guide (find it right here) is organized by park location and activity type, and it includes events hosted by both the Parks Conservancy and the City of Pittsburgh. Locations include Allegheny Commons Park on the Northside, Frick Environmental Center in the East End, Schenley Park and Schenley Plaza in Oakland, August Wilson and Robert E. Williams Memorial parks in the Hill District, Mellon Square downtown, and many other neighborhood parks.

Catherine Qureshi, president and CEO of the Parks Conservancy, says the nonprofit has expanded the geographic footprint of programs for parkgoers this year: “As our programming list continues to grow, we wanted to be sure that these new and exciting opportunities would be accessible to all,” Qureshi says. “Our valued partner, the City of Pittsburgh, also hosts free events throughout the city, so the Summer Programming Guide categorizes many of these happenings for Pittsburghers to know what is available in their community.”
