Maker Monday: Summer Scrapbook
Summer vacation is so much fun that you want the memories to last a lifetime. With this Maker Monday project kids can create a Summer Scrapbook made from the simplest of materials. This easy project can be a treasure to look back on in years to come, like a mini time capsule.
Kids can paste in and save movie ticket stubs, printed out photos, or brochures from visits to attractions like the zoo or museum. Add even more personal touches with drawings of special days and friends.
With this design, pages can be added as the summer fills with events and activities.
Supplies:
Empty cereal box
Paper
Scissors
Hole punch
Twine
Pencil
Straight edge ruler
Flatten out the cereal box and lay flat. Trace the paper onto the box front and back. Cut out to make the front and back of the scrapbook. Hold the cardboard and a few sheets of paper together and punch two or three holes along the left side.
Cut the twine into pieces about 5 or 6 inches long. Thread the twine through the holes and tie.
Personalize your Summer Scrapbook with a drawing, stickers or printed photos and you’re ready to go.
