Picture this. It’s one month before summer break and you’re awake at 2 a.m. looking for camp plans for your kids. As you frantically search “Pittsburgh summer camps” on your phone from the darkness of your bedroom, you promise yourself that you’ll never again wait until the last minute—at least when it comes to camp registration.

Does this sound like a scenario you’d like to avoid? Fortunately for forward-thinking parents like you, registration is now live for Summer Camp 2020 at The Ellis School, and you can check your child’s summer plans off your list in just a few clicks! Did you know that Ellis offers dozens of fun and affordable summer camps for kids of all ages in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood? Or that they have unique camps ranging from baking to acting to robotics available in June, July, and August? Here are 5 things you didn’t know about Summer Camp at Ellis:

1.  We Have Camps for Kids as Young as 2-Years-Old

Kids as young as two—we’ve got a place for you! Our early education half-day camps are the perfect place for your toddler to learn, grow, and socialize with other children in a safe, nurturing environment. Your tiny tot will experience the magic of playing and learning within a community while having the added advantage of being under the watch of experienced instructors who are uniquely equipped to boost their burgeoning brainpower.

2.  Boys are Welcome

We might be a girls’ school, but come summer our doors are open to boys of all ages! A wide range of our camps are coed, including all of our camps for kids ages 2–10. Whether they’re exploring their own superhero alter egos or learning tai chi, your son will flex his physical and creative muscles at Ellis.

3.  We Offer an Entrepreneurship Camp—Just for Girls

Does your daughter have dreams of running a start-up one day? We’ve got just the camp for her. This year, we’re partnering with GenHERation, a national network that connects young women with innovative companies, for a camp that empowers girls to embrace their entrepreneurial mindset. In this entrepreneurship program exclusively for girls, your daughter will have the opportunity to learn from leaders at the most innovative companies in Pittsburgh, participate in skill-building simulations, and meet powerful female executives.

4.  Our Camps are Run by Role Models Who Rock

Ellis Summer Camps are led by expert educators, professionally-trained thespians, NCAA athletes, and enthusiastic instructors who will serve as positive role models and teachers to your child. You’ll see your child blossom in front of your eyes as they’re supported and mentored by adults who genuinely care about—and are knowledgeable about—their growth and well-being.

5 . We Accommodate Working Families

For many families, summer break, unfortunately, doesn’t mean time off for the whole clan. That’s why we accommodate working families with extended hours and care. We offer half-day and full-day options with after-care available. That means your family’s busy schedule will fit with our flexible one!

At Ellis, your child will have the opportunity to discover new passions, hone existing talents, and forge new friendships. Whatever your child’s interests may be, there’s a camp for them at The Ellis School. Reserve your spot today!
