DJ Kelly Day is known around Pittsburgh for hosting high-energy indie dance parties for kids. The owner of Kid City Rockers, originally from Los Angeles, is also a designer, community activist, and founder of Connected 4 Community.

The mom of three kids – Thurston, 6, Winslow, 4, and Marigold, 2 – lives in Brighton Heights with her husband, Bill, an information architect.

Kids having fun is part of the goal of her DJ career, as well as family life. Her favorite Pittsburgh thing?

“We love Idlewild,” Kelly says. The family-oriented amusement park remains open on weekends through the end of October.

“Having three little ones, this place covers it all. I personally enjoy all the shade that park provides. Somehow, we never get to everything and we go all the time as season pass holders,” she says.

“They grow up so fast, sometimes you gotta just put the laptop down and get out of the house before it’s all over!”
