Braille Story Time
January 10, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm$14 – $16
Join us in the Art Studio for Braille Story Time. Together we’ll read stories and explore braille. We’ll feature a book called, The Black Book of Colors, a story that invites readers to imagine living without sight through raised line illustrations and descriptions of colors based on imagery.
This program is presented as part of Braille Literacy Month. Braille is a code of raised dots to make text readable for individuals who are blind. It is named after it’s inventor, Louis Braille, who was born on January 4, 1809 and lost his sight as a child. January has been declared Braille Literacy Month to celebrate his life and honor his legacy.
