Slovak Heritage Festival

Western PA is the home to the highest concentration of people with Slovak ancestry outside of Europe. The Slovak Heritage Festival features song and dance performances by professional Slovak artists, local performing groups (the Pittsburgh Slovakians, Slavjane Folk Ensemble and PAS), craft demonstrations (one by the Warhol Museum), lectures (one on Andy Warhol’s art and the influence of his Slovak Rusyn Heritage on it), cultural displays, gifts, ethnic foods, cookies, pastries, films, kids crafts and much more!
This year kids can participate in a craft passport, and they can watch Mimi and Liza, a Slovak animated children’s program. Also playing is Seven Ravens (2015) a Czech-Slovak fairytale film. All free.
