Saturday Sequence, Architecture Camp Spring 2024

This series of workshops for students in grades K-12 provides a studio-like experience, emphasizing problem-solving skills through drawing, model making, and more. All workshops take place on Saturday mornings at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture in the College of Fine Arts building, CFA room 214. 9am-12noon Saturday Sequence, Spring 2024 Building Fun: The Architecture of Carnival & Arcade Spaces Dates: Feb 17th, Feb 24th, March 16th, March 23rd, April 6, April 13th Saturday Sequence – Building Fun: The Architecture of Carnival & Arcade Spaces Course Overview: This course is an immersive exploration of the Carnival and Arcade themes in architecture, focusing on hands-on model making and digital design. Students will engage in a series of projects, including designing an arcade, creating a virtual reality (VR) game, and designing a carnival headdress/costume. The course will span six weekends during the Spring 2024 semester, with a flexible attendance policy requiring students to attend at least five of the six Weekends **April 13 – Last Class with Parents – CMU Carnival Visit Showcase of final designs. Class exhibition for parents and visitors Attendance at the Carnegie Mellon University Carnival to observe real-world Carnival elements
