Pittsburgh Clean Energy Art Contest (virtual)
November 5 - November 25
Fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas hurt children’s health and put communities at risk: from increasing asthma symptoms to causing birth defects and premature births, to releasing cancer-causing heavy metals and chemicals into the environment, to speeding up climate change. It’s time for clean energy solutions!
We can create a healthier future by taking small meaningful steps toward clean energy every day. We can write to our representatives, make the switch to clean energy sources like wind or solar around our house or become engaged in efforts to promote clean energy at the local or national level.
Homewood Children’s Village and The Children’s Environmental Health Network are hosting the Pittsburgh #EnergyAndKidsHealth Art Contest! Help drive community change by sharing your vision for a healthier future for the kids in your community.
Submit a photo of your drawing, painting, or other art online October 26-November 15 for a chance to win a $100 grand prize. Then vote and encourage others to vote for their favorite art to determine the winners! Voting is open November 16-25.
You can also use #CleanEnergyArt (entries from contestants 18+) #CleanEnergyArtYouth (entries from contestants 8-17) to caption a Twitter or Instagram post with your art showing your vision for clean energy and healthy communities in Pittsburgh to enter (must be public accounts).
