Introduction to Songwriting

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until February 3, 2021
Get ready to become a composer! Guitar students will explore their creativity in Introduction to Songwriting, developing the skills to create their own original melodies on their instrument using notes from an assigned scale or key. We will also discuss the composition of chord progressions, learning why some chords sound more harmonious when paired together than other chords do. While singing is not required, students will have the option to focus on singing and playing guitar simultaneously. Students are sure to leave the course having composed several of their own original pieces of music! The Introduction to Songwriting course is best suited for guitar students ages 8-12.
