Future City Competition

January 18

Future City Competition, Carnegie Science Center. The Science Center hosts the National Engineers Week competition for kids in grades 6-8.

Carnegie Science Center is your host for the National Engineers Week Future City Competition, an innovative, nationally recognized engineering program for students in grades 6–8. Students work in teams, with a teacher and an engineering mentor, to design a city of the future using SimCity™ software. They build a scale model of their city, write an essay on an engineering-related topic, and present their creation during the local competition. Winners go on to compete in the national finals in Washington, D.C.
