First Songs (ages 6-10)

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until February 2, 2021
The First Songs course will help beginner guitarists familiarize themselves with their instrument through popular songs. Students are encouraged (but not required) to explore singing and playing guitar simultaneously. In addition to the pieces they will be assigned to learn, students are welcome to choose one of their favorite songs to bring to the course! If a skill-appropriate adaptation of the piece is available, Mr. Tom is happy to teach a popular song of a student’s choosing. Students will develop their music literacy skills and gain experience playing in a group setting with other guitarists. This course is best suited for students ages 6-10.
