Catch the recording of our cookie workshop with Jasmine Cho celebrating Women’s History Month
In this second workshop of the Kidsburgh Cookie Table series, cookie activist Jasmine Cho celebrated Women’s History Month by sharing the stories of four incredible women: Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, U.S. House of Representative Patsy Mink and former astronaut and director of the Johnson Space Center, Dr. Ellen Ochoa.
When attendees were asked to name someone they admired, many little friends said their mom or a mom-like figure, such as grandmother, aunt or sister. Inspired by these comments, Jasmine used an illustration of a mom drawn by a 9-year old and showed the steps to turn that drawing into a cookie portrait.
Jasmine M. Cho is a Pittsburgh-based artist, author, and cookie activist most known for using portrait cookies to elevate representation for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. She is also a Food Network Champion, winning the “Christmas Cookie Challenge” in Season 3.

Celebrating World Book Day with Chocolate Chip Cookies and Jasmine Cho
In this virtual session on April 23, Jasmine celebrates World Book Day by reading a favorite kids’ book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” that inspires chocolate chip cookies. Then, bake along with Jasmine as she shares how to make chocolate chip cookies three ways: thin and crispy, soft and puffy, and chewy. Register here.
Celebrate 143 Day (or “I Love You” Day) with Jasmine Cho and special guests
On May 23, we celebrate the 143 Day, which is declared the day of kindness in honor of Fred Rogers. The numbers had special meaning to Mister Rogers as the number of letters reflected his favorite phrase, “I love you.” Jasmine will be joined by special guests Gregg Behr and Ryan Rydzewski, the authors of the book “When You Wonder, You’re Learning.” Playful and practical, this book brings the lessons of Mister Rogers into the digital age, introducing a new generation of families to the lessons of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Jasmine will teach families how to make a special cookie inspired by this book while Gregg and Ryan will share fun anecdotes from the book for families. Register here.
This series is presented by Kidsburgh and Remake Learning Days Across America.
