For those experiencing a dangerous situation at home, it can be hard to know where to find help. A recent update at the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh means that victims experiencing domestic violence can find help in one central place, the Bright Sky app.

This new update is in partnership with Vodafone Americas Foundation. Bright Sky is a safe, free, easy-to-use app that is available on both Android and iOS. The app and accompanying website provides practical support and information on how to respond to domestic violence. This app can be used by anyone experiencing domestic violence or by those trying to help someone else.

The app has support from several other organizations including Aspirant, No More, Domestic Shelters and the Thames Valley Partnership.

For anyone experiencing an unsafe situation, in addition to the Bright Sky app, they can call the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh 24 hours a day at 412-687-8005, or chat via text 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 412-744-8445.
