Indoors and out, there are plenty of events for kids this weekend in and around the Pittsburgh region. Check out this lineup of kid-friendly events:

Saturday, Feb. 5: Winterfest at Moraine (11 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Ohiopyle State Parks (11 a.m.-4 p.m.)

Pennsylvania State Parks’ annual cold-weather festival takes place at two regional parks this Saturday. The Winterfest celebration at Moraine State Park takes place on the North Shore and features fun snowy and cold weather activities, entertainment, vendors and demonstrations. Winterfest at Ohiopyle State Park offers sledding, wagon rides and a food truck at the Sugarloaf Sledding Area, cross country skiing at the Train Station and snowshoeing at the Kentuck Campground Amphitheater.

Saturday, Feb. 5, “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live!,” Byham Theater, Downtown.

It’s fitting that ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’ would live on through the animated exploits of one of its greatest characters — the lovable, inquisitive Daniel Tiger. This live stage show recreates the Emmy Award-winning PBS series for preschool-age children. Get tickets here

Saturday, Feb. 5: I Made It Mine! At The Block Northway, 12-5 p.m.

Looking for some lovely Valentine’s Day gifts for the family, or just in the mood to window shop? The one-day pop-up market will fill The Block Northway’s South Corridor with 100 crafty makers along with Farmer’s Market vendors and hands-on activities. Saturday, Feb. 5: My Burgh, My Bridge With Artist Corey Carrington at MuseumLab, 12-5 p.m.

My Burgh/My Bridge is an activity that uses the global recognition of Pittsburgh’s many bridges to spark a conversation on connectivity, identity, and individuality. Design your own bridge using a wide range of materials to celebrate the various identities that make up your Pittsburgh experience. What makes your “bridge” unique? How do you identify yourself? In what ways do you connect with others? This is a drop-in-style workshop, where visitors can come and go at their leisure. The workshop costs $5 and includes MuseumLab admission. Buy tickets here.

Saturday, Feb. 5: Park After Dark: Owl Prowl at Hartwood Acres, 6-8 p.m.

Bundle up and head out into the urban wilderness to explore the fascinating world of owls. Led by county park rangers, the winter hike will traverse between 2 and 3 miles with moderate elevation changes. Register for free.

Sunday, Feb. 6: Avi, Words & Pictures (virtual), 2:30 p.m.

Kids will get a fresh perspective on the Revolutionary War with Avi’s new novel, “Loyalty.” A young British Loyalist flees to Boston with his family after his father is killed by rebel vigilantes. Wanting to avenge his father, he becomes a spy for the British. But after witnessing hypocrisy and contradictory information, he struggles to determine where he should place his loyalty. Avi, a Newberry Medalist and author of more than 70 books, is the latest to be virtually presented by the Words & Pictures series from Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures. Tickets are free and the event can be viewed throughout the week.
