New this summer, future paleologists and dinosaur lovers of all ages can experience a dinosaur themed birthday party at the National Aviary in conjunction with our limited time exhibit – Living Dinosaurs presented by Peoples! Young guests will have a T-Rexellent time with hands-on activities like dig pits, fossil puzzles, and dino dress up. With our one-of-a-kind dinosaur party, guests can create a make-and-take clay fossil craft and enjoy a personal encounter with Ty, our feathered baby T-rex that blinks, roars and interacts with guests! This exciting experience is only available through September 29!

2. Older kids (and parents!) can fly like a pterosaur with a Birdly® Birthday

Fly like a pterosaur through Jurassic Times with Birdly®, a full-body flight simulator. Feel the wind in your hair as you pick up speed, and hear the roars of dinosaurs as you soar closer to them. You’re in control! Flap your wings, turn, dive, and glide. Birdly® will respond to your movements for an exhilarating and realistic flight experience.

The flyer’s “wingspan” (distance from fingertip to fingertip) must be at least 50″. Add on a Birdly® flight during your visit or book a Birdly® Birthday to experience as a group!

3. Get one-of-a-kind, up-close photos with a private avian encounter

Your party could receive a visit from a very special guest like an owl, penguin, parrot, a falcon or even an armadillo! Our expert trainers will bring the encounter to you for an educational and unforgettable experience. You can also see a parrot showing off its artistic side. Watch as the bird uses a paintbrush to create a painting for the birthday child while a National Aviary expert explains how we train these amazing parrots. Then, take the one-of-a-kind masterpiece home as a memorable souvenir.

4. Experience all of our immersive habitats with all-day admission to the National Aviary

Guests can spend the entire day walking through our lush Tropical Rainforest where birds fly freely around you and a sloth can be spotted in the trees overhead. Crawl through tunnels to get even closer to our playful penguin colony. Take advantage of our daily schedule of programs to experience activities like feedings, story time and more!
