Hear Me explores Pittsburgh youth-police relations

The Hear Me project, an initiative of the CREATE Lab at Carnegie Mellon University, amplifies students’ voices using media and technology to create a world where they are heard, acknowledged and understood giving them the power to inspire social change.

In this podcast, Hear Me dives into its recent Youth-Police Campaign, where it partnered with the advocacy group Allies for Children. This episode describes some of the overall trends in students’ responses and features stories from the participating students.

Hear Me interviewed over 100 students from more than 30 different Pittsburgh neighborhoods about their perceptions of, and interactions with police officers, as well as their hopes for improving the relationship between young people and officers. The original podcast can be found here.
